ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS


Do the products contain any chemicals? 
No, all of our products do not contain any chemicals. There are also no genetically modified ingredients in our products.


Do the products contain any heavy metals?
No, all of the ingredients in our products are food grade and third party tested for heavy metals.


Do the products contain any artificial additives, colourings, flavourings and preservatives?
No, all of our products do not contain any artificial additives, colourings, flavourings, and preservatives.


Do the products contain any alcohol?
No, all of our products are alcohol free.


Are the products gluten free?
Yes, all of our products are gluten free.


Are the products sugar free?
Yes, all of our products are sugar free and sweetener free, and contain zero sugar.


Are the products vegan?
Our Organic Tooth Powder range is 100% vegan whilst our Hydroxyapatite Tooth Powder range is not vegan as it has micro hydroxyapatite which is a natural version of hydroxyapatite derived from bovine bone.


Are the products cruelty free?
Yes, all of our products are cruelty free.


Are the products biodegradable?
Yes, all of the ingredients in our products are biodegradable.


What does the tooth powder taste like? 
Our tooth powder ‘Minty Brush’ has a minty taste from peppermint and spearmint essential oils. As our tooth powders do not have any sugars or sweeteners, we use salt as a subtle salty flavour.


Will the tooth powder whiten my teeth?
Our tooth powder helps remove stains from the teeth. The ingredients we have selected effectively bind to surface stains, allowing the teeth to look whiter.

 

Is the tooth powder abrasive? Will it damage my enamel?
The powder is ultra-fine and non abrasive and becomes a paste upon binding with water from your damp brush. Therefore, it will not damage your enamel. Relative Dentin Abrasivity (RDA) is a guide to measure abrasiveness for dental products, determining how abrasive a dental toothpaste is to the enamel. The ingredients in our tooth powder have RDA between 7-100 and are less abrasive than commercial toothpaste, making it a gentle yet effective alternative. Dentists generally recommend using a toothpaste that has an RDA below 200. Toothpaste typically has an RDA of around 150-200. An RDA above 250 can damage the enamel.
 

Are the products made and manufactured in Australia?

All of our products are made and hand blended in small batches with love by us in our warehouse in Footscray. We create these ourselves and do not outsource to other formulators or private label companies. 


 
HEALTH AND PRODUCT SAFETY


Are the products safe to use during pregnancy?
Yes, all our products are safe to use during pregnancy unless you wish to avoid essential oils for homoeopathic reasons.


Are the products suitable for children?
Yes, our toothpowders are suitable for kids, toddlers, and babies to use, however, it is advised that it is not meant to be swallowed or ingested as brushing removes the food debris, bacteria from the mouth so it is best to spit it out after brushing.


Is it safe to swallow the toothpowder?
Yes, our ingredients are all food grade so completely safe if accidentally ingested. We do recommend spitting as when brushing your teeth, the clay in the tooth powder can absorb toxins from your gums and teeth. 

 
USING THE PRODUCT


How do I use my tooth powder?
Wet your toothbrush. Shake off excess water. Dip bristles into the toothpowder. Brush teeth and gums gently for 2 minutes. Rinse and SMILE!


What type of toothbrush should I use with the tooth powder?
You can use either a normal toothbrush or an electric toothbrush with our tooth powders.


How much tooth powder do I use?
Whilst this is a personal preference, only a very small amount is needed to coat your toothbrush. 


How many brushes in each jar of tooth powder? 
There are approximately 200 brushes in each jar.

 

STORAGE, DISPOSAL, AND PACKAGING 


How do I store my tooth powder?
Our tooth powders should be stored in cool, dry place up to 12 months from opening.


How do I keep my tooth powder dry?
Scooping a little tooth powder into a small saucer to use daily will help keep your tooth powder dry.


What is the tooth powder packaging made from?
Our tooth powder packaging is made from clear glass jars with aluminium lids and paper labels.


Can I transfer my tooth powder into another canister? Will it stay fresh?
Yes you can. We recommend transferring to any airtight, glass canister that is food safe. 


Are the packaging for the products plastic free and compostable?
Yes, we ship everything 100% plastic free in a cardboard box with paper wrapping, labels, and tape. All of our packaging and shipping materials are 100% recyclable and compostable.


SHIPPING


What shipping carriers do you use?
We use Auspost. You will be asked to select a delivery method during checkout.

How long will it take to get my order?
After your order is placed, we aim to pick and pack it for you and mail your package within 1-3 business days from the date that your order was placed. Orders within Australia will take 5-7 business days to arrive. Orders outside Australia will range between 7-16 business days to arrive. 


How will I know if my order has been shipped?
If you entered your contact information at check out, you will receive an email or SMS order confirmation after your order has been placed. You will receive a shipping confirmation notice with a tracking number as soon as your order has shipped.


I didn't receive a confirmation email?
Please make sure you check all folders in your inbox including the junk and spam folders. If you still cannot find your confirmation email please email hello@ohgigi.co to ensure you provided the correct email during checkout. 


What if I made a mistake in my shipping address?
If you have made a mistake in your shipping address please email hello@ohgigi.co within 2 hours of placing your order. Please use the subject line 'CHANGE OF ADDRESS' and provide your full name, order number and corrected shipping address.


My order status is 'unfulfilled', what does this mean?
If your order status is shown as unfulfilled this simply means your order has not yet been dispatched, but the payment has been successful. Once your order has been dispatched you will receive an email to confirm your order has been fulfilled and another email providing you with a tracking number.


Can I return my order?
We always aim to make sure our customers love our products, but if there is something not quite right or you are not happy about, please reach out and email us directly at hello@ohgigi.co and we will do our best to work with you individually on how we can make your product experience better as we do really want you to be 100% happy. Whether this might be to modify the flavour profile or happily custom design a flavour profile/ product(s) for your next order, we are here to help.
While we respect the right for our customers to return products, we would love you to know that we are a small Melbourne based family operated brand and put a lot of love and effort into our products. We choose not to accept returns as online retail returns as due to the nature of the products, we are not able to resell them if they are returned. This means that we will have to dispose of them which is harmful to the environment in terms of landfill waste (something we are aiming to reduce through our products) and is not in line with our core belief around waste.
